Opened as Squeeze In since May 1974, previous businesses in Truckee's over-100-year-old building included a bank, a jewelry store, the Gilt Edge Saloon, a meeting lodge, an indoor skating rink, a lodging house, a furniture store, an insurance office, a donut shop, even a liquor store. Of course, true glory happened in 1974 when the Squeeze first opened. You can feel the great karma from the moment you walk in the door. The energy here is vibrant and the people, both staff associates and guests WANT to be here and it shows. We like to call it a "love-fest." The Downtown Truckee Squeeze In got its name from its tiny-ness: 10'3'' wide and 62 feet deep. 14 tables, that's it. In 2004, Gary and Misty Young bought Squeeze In after having loved it as guests for some 15 years. And then came the Northwest Reno, Nevada location!
In February 2008, the Youngs (along with daughter and son-in-law, Shila and Chad Morris) opened the Reno Squeeze In at the corner of McCarran and Las Brisas Blvds in northwest Reno. The families took a completely empty shell of a building and built out what has become THE breakfast and lunch spot in northwest Reno. The Northwest Squeeze seats 114 inside, and when the weather's nice, we can seat an additional 46 guests on our patio. Well-behaved and leashed pets are welcome on the patio. We'll even hook 'em up with a bowl of water and some dog food from King's Row Pet Hospital. And the latest location is now in South Reno, Nevada!
The latest restaurant in South Reno, opened on April 1, 2011 is the largest of the three restaurants, with a seating capacity of up to 150 guests, and even more on the patio when open. We're so thankful to be opening a third location in a time when many restaurants are closing their doors. And we're stoked to bring the same fun and great quality food to this expanding area of Reno. See Press Release here on PR Web. Hours of Operation All three locations are open 7am to 2pm everyday, 363 days a year. Weekdays you can get in without a horrendous wait. Weekends are busiest, so come early or late, or expect to wait - which is cool too - we'll serve you coffee or our signature "flammable" bloody marys, mimosas or bellinis to make the wait totally doable.
