Today had Popeye spinach scramble, toast, fruit cup no melons. Great! Coffee and cranberry juice. Service, atmosphere, food was excellent. Cody the mgr in NW always gives everyone a smile, friendly greeting and makes sure all is well. He cares. Kiddos to the NW hub for great food, service and friendly atmosphere where people talk to ole friends or make new ones. Give it a try,you won't be disappointed.
Everything is always great from the service to the food.. I’m watching my carbs and they substituted all carbs for a salad without any questions or problems LOVE IT HERE!!!
I cannot recommend the breakfast at Squeeze in highly enough. Great variety of superb egg dishes, wonderful mimosas and a top notch Bloody Mary. Not to be missed
It's so hard to know how to apply stars to this place. The atmosphere is unique with graffiti all over the walls and lots of cute stuff, much of it with a local feel. So I suppose it depends on whether that appeals or not. The food is very good. Certainly excellent for the price in Truckee. Everyone is friendly and it will certainly give you a bit of local flavor.
Lots of choices. We are able to get in & out in a timely fashion. Everything hot & fresh. Lots of great margarita choices. Big portions. Forrest did a great job😊
Our good friend took us here. It is really a fun place for breakfast. I had the Racy Tracy Omelette. Enjoyed every bite. After we ate- we signed the wall (ask for the markers)
Average food. Omelette wasn't even salted. It takes forever to find seating here but not because there aren't seats but because no one is behind the counter seating people.Won't recommend and it's definitely not even the best omelette in the Truckee let alone on planet as they claim
Great little place! We were driving from UT to CA Bay Area and needed a pet friendly breakfast spot. They seemed crowded with a line out the door but we were seated rather quickly, just the two of us. The place is narrow and tables small so large parties may have a mor difficult time getting in or needing to wait for space to open up. Our small dog fit comfortably under our table but a larger dog may not have fit. The food was surprisingly good - I say that because road trip food is almost never very good 🤣. My partner had eggs Benedict and I had an egg white veggie scramble with fruit - yes, a healthy option! The walls are graffiti and I forgot to ask for pens to leave my mark - good reason to go back!
Amazing food but!!!! The store next door I would never ever shop there the owners are rude as heck see it for yourself folks on you tube under amagenset press you can’t make this stuff up
Have a talk with your sock parlor neighbors on critical thought. Please give them the same information necessary for an A.I to become sentient because they are npc,s only capable of acting out the pure high grade ignorance they have been taught. Atmosphere rating could be better if there wasn't such a strong presence of stupidity and ignorance next door.
All the businesses on this street are outrageous ignorant people who don’t know the Law and even put their hands on a poor guy just filming in public! Disgusting behavior by the store owners involved! Don’t waste your time or money with these places, there are better options!
The sock store owner in the photo assaulted and broke a person camera who was visiting truckee that’s so disgusting the town of truckee have disgusting people living there. I don’t recommend anybody to visit truckee California you might get assaulted and insulted by the people there!
Yo your business neighbor "The Sock Parlour" next door to ya just closed their google account because they've violated The Bane Act. Tell them, all we want is just a formal publicly apology to Amagansett Press. Nobody here wants any hard working business to get shut down over civil rights...We just want them to learn from this.
The food is par, not much flavor in ours. Not a fan of the mimosas due to the juice, fake juice. Food came out cold. It was all ehh. It's probably a place to go when you are hungover, maybe. The price was high for the quality of food and drinks. They only have 1 server too which sucks for him because hes waiting for tables and bussing when it's too busy to do both :/ feel bad for the guy. But food wise, naa.
Breakfast was delicious! Fun atmosphere and our server, Luke, was great! Super friendly, very attentive despite being busy. The bloody Mary was so good! Definitely recommend! They also have dietary/allergens marked on the menu with options, which is always nice!
The food is disgusting, service sucked. Delivered food on dirty plate. French toast hard as rock ,no silverware before food lol so that's how it caught cold
Popular for a reason. Tiny and packed, but worth the wait. Amazing biscuits and gravy, perfectly cooked bacon. Good coffee. Get there real early to avoid the crowds, or go whenever you want and stroll the town while you wait.
Squeeze in is a classic that we miss back home in Redwood City after they left. When we come back to Tahoe, we have to stop in Truckee for breakfast at least once. Love the huge Bloody Mary with the grilled cheese.
Local town favorite for excellent breakfast, brunch, and lunch, with highly renowned omelettes and skillets! Literally everything here is amazing and their breakfast items are famous. The restaurant has a Truckee feel to it and has deep historical roots to the area. The food here is excellent and they offer some of the best omelettes you may have ever had. They also have breakfast offerings like burritos and other alternative meals. The serving sizes are large and the food is fresh. Definitely great food. This place is highly popular so come early. I’d recommend getting here no later than 8:30 AM or you will be waiting in line to be seated. This place is popular, so plan accordingly. There is parking on the street that is free in the morning or pay to park in the afternoon. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had!
We had lunch here on Sunday and OMG. This is a hidden gem in Truckee. We put ourselves on the waitlist and we waited for like 40 minutes and it was worth it.They have many mimosas to choose and a huge brunch menu. I got an omelette and couldn’t even finish it. The portions and the price is very reasonable.Last but not least our waitress Manda was very helpful and kind,l. It id definitely a have to go if you are in Truckee, worth the wait!
This place is ok in my opinion. Food is decent. I ordered "The Queen". It was a full dish of French toast piled high with semi fresh fruit. Cream cheese in the middle didn't really taste like cream cheese. Tasted more like whipped cream. My wife had the chorizo breakfast burrito. Her's was better than mine. Her potatoes were nice and crispy. Filling in the burrito was delicious and hot. Service here was not very speedy nor urgent. Our server only came once to check up on us. Had to ask for everything all at once or running the risk of not getting another chance to get asked if me needed anything. My suggestion is to also go on Yelp and check in on there. You'll thank me later. 👍🏼
Be sure to come within the first 30 mins of them opening if you want to be seated immediately.During the summer they have a couple outdoor tables which don’t fill up so fast. The food wasn’t ask good as we were expecting. Too much hype and fame and not all that good. The banana pancakes are good though.
I will have to get pictures and update the squeeze in later, because yes, I will be going back. So I am with my sister right now and she's showing me all the wonderful places in town that she loves and squeeze in was one of her choices for breakfast. She said you could scribble all over their walls. There's even scribbles on the ceiling like how could somebody really get up there without a ladder lol. When we went in, we forgot to sign in, so we sat down like complete tourists, even though she knew you were supposed to sign in. Eventually, we sign ourselves in and right away we're called. I loved all the aliens hidden everywhere. The food was so extra. It was delicious! Large proportions, making me hungry talking about it I'll be back.
We stopped in Truckee for breakfast on our route from Tahoe to Lassen. I'm so glad we chose this gem. All the staff were upbeat, attentive, and personable despite how busy it was. Charlotte (from Reno) was particularly delightful. I had the Very Veggie omelet with fruit (at her recommendation), and both were above par. I've had hundreds of veggie omelets, and this was by far my favorite. Husband had the Spanish Flay and said it was a little dry, but would order again (with a side of salsa). Thank you Squeeze In staff for the memorable meal.
Started off rough by waiting on a server for about 15 minutes. I went up and asked if we could have someone take care of us. The young man who I asked said he would gladly take care of us. He did a great job. We had the Rosey omelet, and it was delicious. So overall we were pleased. This is a small establishment that does not tale reservations so be aware. Cheers
Tony was an amazing waiter, very attentive and funny. Couldn't believe he drove from Reno to work in Truckee but he said he really enjoys working for the company and keeps doing it which is a testiment to the restaurants long standing great reputation. Food amazing, drinks great, atmosphere fun and service always above and beyond
Holy S#!t this place is amazing. Jack Johnson pancakes were probably the best pancakes I've ever had, that syrup is next level. The bomb bacon Benny is making it rain bacon. Thank you benny much to our server, Tony. 😁
We waited an hour to be seated and then we were told that they didn’t have the vodka necessary for their famous Bloody Mary - which is the reason why we drove an hour to eat there. So so disappointing and we won’t be going back. Food was okay
The place is amazing the food is the best, they also made an egg that was not on the menu. I would definitely recommend to take family here for breakfast. Super nice, 5 stars.
Neat place to litterally squeeze in. Food was great. Coffee was heavy. Could not find a place to sign the wall and did not bring a step ladder to do so. Bummer.
Again, I searched out GF diner, and reviews are great. We all had different omelets, fabulous choice fillings..friendly as staff, it's very cozy, narrow but spacious..seems they been going near 50 years they got it all perfect. Us New Zealanders, 😊 you
We arrived about 30 minutes before closing and we were the only people there. We asked if they were still seating and we were happily told yes (we kinda expected a no). Although we were the last people they treated us amazingly. Our food was great and the service even better. This is our favorite spot.
Went for breakfast, the pancakes were huge, although they were quite expensive. Taste was good but just like any other pancake. The coffee was very good for a diner and I had several cups. Service was very good as well.
This place has a great breakfast!! The banana walnut pancakes are a must!! The chicken fried steak isn’t bad either. But Lori was great too, our server made sure we had everything we needed.
Amazing little diner on Donner Pass road in the center of downtown. Super friendly staff, amazing food, huge portions. If you're looking for breakfast or lunch, look no further.
YUM!!! Had breakfast here and this little place is definitely big on the flavor!! We had an omelette and the banana walnut pancakes. Both were great but we definitely experienced heaven with the pancakes! They are to die for with honey butter syrup (I’m guessing from the flavor). If you are not a big eater you can split it or if you just want to feel less guilty 😂 but once you start with one bite you can will want finish them. This place also had a very hippy feel, cute quirky and welcoming. Clean and the staff was fantastic! Also, we recommend if you don’t want to have to pay for parking, go before 10am.
Always a needed stop for breakfast when I roll through Truckee. Great breakfast cocktails, and the omelet selection is impressive.I got the chicken fried steak, but forgot to take a picture of that glory.Love me some Squeeze In!
Now that I got a lovely reply for my 5 star review I think I should actually write the review that I had in my head! This place has exquisite food, a great vibe, awesome drinks and absolutely fabulous service. It's packed all the time for a reason - both locals and visitors love to visit and come away happy with their choice to dine there. My wife and I are in Tahoe 30-40 weekends a year and you can be sure that many of them will involve at least one breakfast here!
Well we were on a visit from out of town sadly we don't have any good food places where we live In our area so I really wasn't expecting much to be honest boy or boy were me and my family completely surprised the food was absolutely delicious I mean seriously it was out of this world everything that world everything that we had was cooked to perfection the eggs were perfect and I know eggs are just general but man I've been to some places that can't even cook an egg right the potatoes were so delicious not to mention the French toast was just excellent pancakes chasted so good it makes me want to go back there just eat the food Everything that we ordered came and it was just perfect everything was quite fast and quite fast and justify was just wonderful Thank you so very much to all the amazing workers bravo and now here is my 9 year old perspective.I had the Queen Maggie and it was scrumptious
Great food in a fun atmosphere with excellent service. This place is known for its omelettes as Bobby Flay did a throwdown here with the chef. The portions are large and everything is delicious. If you have kids, or are a kid at heart, be sure and order a hot chocolate and you won't be disappointed. If you are looking for an adult beverage the Bloody Mary is on point.
My and my boyfriends absolute favorite place for breakfast (and we’ve tried all the worthwhile places in truckee). Great ambience great food, great staff and great omelettes! Omelettes not pictured because apparently they were too good for me to ever have time to take a picture of them….
Squeeze In is a lovely breakfast and lunch restaurant where you really might have to “squeeze in” to the tight space of the restaurant. Featured on the Food Network and various other places, they tout their breakfast dishes, including signature omelettes and Benedict’s. The eggs they use are tasty, making a great omelette, with lots of carbs to fill you up, including their signature breakfast potatoes and bottomless toast. I have personally had the Racy Tracy and the Spanish Flay, and both are delicious. Do note that the menu is currently limited due to Covid 19 supply and staff issues.
I love it here. An amazing combination of value and deliciousness. Sometimes you just need a great omelette and a mimosa to start your day and squeeze in is there to make it happen. It doesnt hurt that the folks there are kind, fast, and put the customer first.I totally get the reduced menu size and admittedly most of my favorites are still there but for gods sakes please bring back the cheeseburger omelette!!

In 1974, a tiny little kitchen started selling omelettes to locals and tourists in historic downtown Truckee California. At just 10 feet, 3 inches wide, and with only 39 seats, guests would literally have to ‘squeeze in’ to enjoy their breakfast at the little restaurant. As the list of omelette options grew, so did the popularity of the restaurant, and by the mid 80s it was considered a true Truckee institution.
Gary and Misty Young, who lived in Reno, would often drive their daughters, Kay and Shila, to dine at the Squeeze In on special occasions. Through their childhood the girls would regularly hear their parents speak of their ultimate dream to one day own the Squeeze In.
Not some business, not a restaurant, THIS restaurant: the Squeeze In. Between the scrumptious food, the signatures on the wall, and the undeniable hippie vibe, they knew that it was one day their destiny. […]
